Process reversal film
Reversal film is already positive and does not need negative conversion. Use a Reversal project, check input and calibration, then adjust exposure, white balance, and framing.
Before you start
Have your digitized reversal images and any profiles made for the current camera and light.
Steps
Create a Reversal project
Choose Reversal on the welcome screen and create a roll project. Inspect the positive images in the Contact Sheet. Negative Calibration Area and demasking steps do not apply here.

A positive needs no negative inversion, but capture illumination and camera response still affect its colors. A matching reversal CCM calibrates the setup’s positive-image capture, while a negative CCM prepares input for negative-film analysis. The two are not interchangeable. Use a compatible profile within a Reversal project, not negative APD / Status M or a filename-only assumption about White. An applicable built-in Default is a starting point, not a measured calibration for every device. See Create and apply a CCM profile for the procedure.
Adjust exposure and white balance
Open a frame in the Viewer and begin with SDR under Preview. In Basic, increasing Exposure brightens the image and decreasing it darkens it. Start small and inspect highlight/shadow detail. Refine with Highlights/Shadows, Contrast, or white balance as needed, without applying negative Offset/Gain explanations. Put the white-balance pipette back before Crop. For HDR, follow its Preview/output lesson rather than treating a styled SDR view as a promise of the HDR file.

Save the project after cropping, then choose the export format for its intended use. Reversal working files differ from negative-density output; negative-oriented options such as ADX / DPX are not the default choice for ordinary reversal exports.
Check the result
Confirm that the project type is Reversal, inspect the positive image’s color, tone, and crop, then open an exported file to check the result.
Common issues
- Missing negative-only controls can be normal in a reversal project, not evidence of missing installation components.
